How Spabar Skin Rejuvenation Treatments Works
Spabar uses the Palomar® laser and IPL platform which delivers energy to target and destroy vascular and pigmented lesions associated with spider veins, reticular veins, rosacea, telangiectasias, hemangiomas, sun damage, age spots, dyschromia, melasma, poikiloderma, and angiomas from hands, legs, chest, arms and face.
Using the principle of selective photothermolysis, these treatments target different chromophores in the skin, which selectively absorb the laser or light energy as heat and yield the desired response. These optimal wavelengths of light clear vascular and pigmented lesions by targeting the chromophores of hemoglobin (for vascular lesions) and melanin (for pigmented lesions). These damaged lesions are then cleared by the body, removing the appearance of the lesion from the skin. Pigmented lesions undergo a mild desquamation and slough off within two or three days, while the vascular lesions blanch and then resolve within 10 to 14 days.

What should I do before my treatments?
There is no specific preparation required before your teatment.
However, please avoid any form of tanning 4-6 weeks before treatment. This includes spray tans, solariums and sun tans. Also avoid waxing, plucking, depilatory creams and electrolysis at lease 4-6 weeks before treatment.

How Long Does The Procedure Take?

What Areas Can I Have Treated?
The most commonly-requested treatment for our female guests is a full face treatment, as this is the most cost-effective option. Other popular areas are decolletage, forehead, cheeks and hands.

What Happens After My Treatment?
Treatments cause little discomfort and require minimal recovery time. You can expect recovery to be almost immediate, depending on the size and location of the area/s treated. The area may be slightly red for a few hours. A cooling gel will be applied to help reduce the increased warmth in the skin.
The treatments are perfect as a lunch-time or after-work anti-aging 'face-lift' as you can go back to work afterwards.
If you are being treated for sun-damage, brown pigment marks initially darken for a few weeks and then gradually flake off with the application of moisturizing creams.
For the first 48 hours, avoid the sun, exfoliation and tight clothing as these can irritate the area.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Everyone is different, and during your consultation you will be given the best assessment and advice about your options.
